Concrete Countertops in the New Homes & Ideas Dream Home
Raleigh, NC September 27, 2003 - FormWorks Concrete Countertops is proud to contribute to the 4th Annual New Homes & Ideas Dream Home to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. FormWorks crafted the fireplace hearth and surround in the Hearth Room by the kitchen, as well as the countertop in the Laundry Room. Jeffrey Girard, P.E., President of FormWorks said, "We always enjoy crafting beautiful custom concrete countertops for our clients' homes, but the fact that this project benefited such a worthy cause is extremely gratifying. The New Homes & Ideas Dream Home brought together such an enthusiastic team of professionals, and we are honored to have participated."
Those touring the home can see examples of two of the many design options available with concrete. The fireplace hearth and surround showcase FormWorks' variegated concrete, a special technique using contrasting colors of concrete to create an elegant pattern. "This color is called Caramel Cream, but the variegation technique can be used with any color combination. This is an example of the many custom options available with concrete," said Girard.
The Laundry Room countertop is a solid, earthy ochre called Spicy Brown Mustard. The countertop sets off the simple elegance of the white porcelain undermount sink and the traditional-style faucet.
Jeffrey Girard concludes, "FormWorks hopes that our custom concrete has made the New Homes & Ideas Dream Home just a little more special. It was a special project for us."
